Well, gosh - It's been a while since I've had the time to blog. I'm resurrecting this blog once more to just ramble on. If you're reading this (and you're not me) then wow!
Anyhow, lots have changed since March of 2009. I'm now doing a log more iOS consulting and even teaching iOS Game Programming through Xcelme.com - I never thought I would get here.
Take a look sometime and maybe even purchase a class or two.
Just picked up a new MacBook Pro 15” from the Apple store. I’m really impressed with the screen and the trackpad as well as the systems overall performance. The updated trackpad that now accepts four-finger gestures is a marvel.
Here is an interesting note. This is actually the *second* MacBook Pro. The first one (which did indicate a 2009 model on the box) had a serious dent from a sharp object on the lid of the computer. No, there was no box damage visible so this dent likely occurred when the system was initially packaged. Not great quality assurance. The good news is that the folks at the Apple store was more than happy to exchange my hour-old MacBook Pro with a new one. I did have the Apple people inspect the unit before I took it home again. Hopefully this is a fluke and not a serious QA problem at the manufacturing site.
Also, this “new” MacBook Pro had a 2008 date on the box - I’m not sure if there is difference in revs of the machine (This one is a MB470LL/A). I have read of some people experiencing lighting issues with the very first MacBook Pros shipped. So far, this one does not have any issues - but its only been maybe 30 minutes old!
Oh a last side note, I just happened to purchase this Mac almost exactly 4 years to the day from my PowerBook G4 15” - See the 03/13/05 journal entry.
